Hyundai to launch Santro LPG in September

Country's second largest car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today said it will launch Santro LPG in September this year.

''We will launch Santro LPG in the third quarter of this year,'' company Managing Director Heung Soo Lheem told reporters at ninth Auto Expo 2008 here.

Powered by 1086 cc engine, the Santro LPG promises reliable performance with unmatched fuel efficiency, he said.

''With rising crude prices, Santro LPG will provide a more economical option for our customers along with environment-friendly benefits,'' Lheem said.

The wholly owned subsidiary of South Korea's Hyundai Motor Company HMIL plans to launch at least two models every year, he added.

The unveiling of the new Santro LPG will be followed by the inauguration of a new manufacturing plant at Sriperumbudur.

The new plant, with its state-of-the-art production facility would double Hyundai's production capacity in the country to over 600,000 units per annum.
